Becca and Aaron | Christmas-Time Wedding in Tallahassee
"People of Facebook, ONE week from today, I will be MARRIED to my very best friend. Just a week. So hard to believe that after all this time, it's finally here! I love you, Aaron, and I cannot wait!!! :)"This was Becca's Facebook status a week before the wedding
One summer, many many summers ago, Becca and I slept on our grandparents porch in the middle of nowhere Alabama. As we fought to breathe in the air, thick with humidity and mosquitoes, we breathed out stories of our lives, hers in Tallahassee, mine in California.
She told me about her best friends, their Christmas Balls, their adventures, and that is when I first remember hearing about Aaron. At that point, there was nothing too important to hear, but as we lay there and dreamed, I love to know now that she had mentioned her future by name.
She grew up with this family of boys, and when she moved away three years ago, I visited her in South Carolina, and once again heard Aaron's name. A few months later, a relationship status appeared and photoshopped pictures of the two of them "together" made their way to Facebook.
Aaron finally surprised her and proposed, to which she in shock just said "ARE YOU REAL??"
Their wedding day was full of sweetness, full of family, full of lights and friends and Christmas trees, but mostly full of love for each other and for God.
Love you, my dear cousin(S!).
